PowerStream announced today that due to the success of its powerWISE® Business Incentive Program, the company had decided to extend the timelines for participation in the conservation initiative into 2007. The program, which originally was only to be offered to qualifying businesses in PowerStream's service territory until November 17, 2006, will now continue through until August 15, 2007.
Launched in November 2005, the powerWISE® Business Incentive Program provides large business customers within PowerStream's service territory the opportunity to receive up to $50,000 in financial incentives for implementing conservation projects. It offers commercial, institutional and industrial customers the opportunity to receive incentive funding for approved conservation projects that result in measurable kilowatts reductions.
The response to the program has exceeded expectations and the savings have benefited several large commercial customers in PowerStream's service territory.
"The enormous success of the powerWISE® Business Incentive Program has been one of the highlights of the conservation and demand management initiatives we implemented over the past year in our service territory," said Patrick Guran, Chief Energy Conservation Officer, PowerStream.
"Working together with PowerStream on the Business Incentive Program was simple and easy. Being involved in this program helped increase energy efficiency within our facility," said Jim Kuzma, Property Manager of Toronto Montessori Schools, one of the powerWISE® Business Incentive Program participants located in Richmond Hill. "I will certainly participate in future conservation programs offered by PowerStream."
Applications from commercial customers for the program continue to be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
